Valley of Weights feature members of Sky Furrows/ Burnt Hills, the Winterpills/Vatican Commandos, Hayley Thompson-King/ the Weisstronauts, and Xanthocephalus/Murderers’ Row. Echoes of UK post-punk and 70s German motorik lurk throughout their debut 2xLP, all tempered with a heavy dose of US psych-rock burn. Lyrically the Valley are a paranoid crew: subject matter includes thoughts on expiring technologies, the psychological effects of existential simulations, and the looming shadows cast by past lives.

Valley of Weights started with an idea: to take one day per year in the studio to record 3 or 4 new songs, along with longer-form improvised material. The first completed take of each song would then be used as the basic track. Tracks were recorded at Verdant Studios in Vermont and Sonelab Studio in Massachusetts.

Justin Pizzoferrato recorded this LP for us and mixed a bunch of it as well. Pete Weiss mixed what Justin didn’t, and handled editing duties on the improvised pieces.

LP price is postage paid in US only. $35 for buyers in Canada, and $40 for customers in Europe.
